The present study shows how the different theories related to psycological aging have not satisfactorily explained that process. The difficulties of the psycological analysis of aging are discussed and stressed is the need to give more attention to the psycological potentials remaining to the old person as well as the need for less attention to the deteriorating body functions as calculated by the Weschler technique for the coefficient of deterioration. Rapidly analyzed is the psycopathology of aging, and the study concludes with some recommendations useful to help slow down psycological aging.
