Resumo

Para tornar a consciência histórica possível para a pesquisa em Ensino de História, é necessário desvendar seus fundamentos multidisciplinares, de modo a evitar abordagens e resultados contraditórios. O objetivo deste artigo, portanto, é esclarecer o enigma de seus diferentes paradigmas. Discutiremos dois paradigmas inter-relacionados: um que interpreta a consciência histórica como um fenômeno coletivo característico da sociedade ocidental moderna, e o outro que trata a consciência histórica em um nível individual como uma categoria cognitivo epistemológica. Mostraremos que vários equívocos na pesquisa educacional sobre a consciência histórica resultam da confusão entre essas duas conceitualizações e seus paradigmas subjacentes. No entanto, ao destacar a noção de Wirkungsgeschichte (efeito histórico) de Hans-Georg Gadamer, argumentamos que ambas as conceituações não são totalmente mutuamente exclusivas. Incluir a consciência historicamente afetada na noção de consciência histórica oferece uma ampla gama de oportunidades, tanto para os estudiosos da educação em História quanto para os educadores de História.

Professora emérita de Teoria da História e diretora fundadora do Centro de Cultura Histórica, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Holanda. Tem publicações extensas sobre cultura histórica, consciência histórica, historiografia (de gênero), canonização e monumentos, entre outros no Journal of World History, History and Theory, Escritas do Tempo, Journal of Curriculum Studies, History of Education, Paedagogica Historica. Seus livros incluem Onontkoombaar verleden / Inescapable Pasts (Verloren 2020), Palgrave Handbook of Research in Historical Culture and Education (ed. com Mario Carretero e Stefan Berger 2017), Beyond the Canon. História para o Século XXI (ed. com Siep Stuurman 2007), Transformando a Esfera Pública. Robbert-Jan Adriaansen, Erasmus University Rotterdam

Professor associado do Departamento de História da Erasmus University Rotterdam na Holanda, professor titular de Cultura Histórica em Transição na Universidade de Ghent, uma cátedra instalada pela EuroClio. Sua pesquisa se concentra na cultura histórica, na compreensão histórica e na consciência histórica. Ele publicou amplamente em periódicos como Journal of Curriculum Studies, International Public History, The American Historical Review e Memory, Mind & Media.
