The documentary "Black Culture: Identity and difference in Blumenau" was born from the need to enter the debate about the history and african-brazilian culture in society, need this expanded with the adoption of the Law 10.639, which mandates the discussion in the room class. It was necessary to discuss the theme of identity and difference for not falling into the clichés and reinforce the stigma and the perpetuation of exclusion. Would not adequately incorporate this theme and insert it into another piece of contemporary cultural mosaic, using resources lined the rhetoric of tolerance of differences. Here we highlight the need to take the identity out of the classroom, to understand it as a linguistic construction, and therefore, in the field of power relations. This means putting into question the binaries around which the differences are organized. This discussion is urgent in a city of Blumenau/SC where ethnic affirmation is a constant political and cultural discourses. To talk of african-brazilian indentity is precisely the possibility of treating the speech, otherwise the banks of the territories, and above all, indicate the limits and inconsistencies that carries all identity discourse.
