This paper aims to analyze the cartoons addressing the Malvinas War found in the newspaper Jornal do Brasil in order to understand the publication’s stance on the Anglo-Argentine conflict. The cartoons are evaluated through the qualitative method developed by the German sociologist Ralf Bohnsack. To achieve the proposed objective, the text is divided into three sections, in addition to the introduction and final considerations. The first section briefly introduces the Jornal do Brasil and the professional authors of the analyzed cartoons. In the second, the documentary method for image analysis is described. Finally, in the third section, we focus on the cartoons published by the Jornal do Brasil regarding the South Atlantic dispute. It is concluded that the Jornal do Brasil positioned itself against the recovery of the Malvinas by the Argentine Armed Forces.
