The Regeneración is a newspaper founded in August 1900, by brothers Jesus and Ricardo Flores Magón, in Mexico City. In 1905 it became an official publication of the Mexican Liberal Party (PLM), and during the violent period of the Mexican Revolution (1910-1920) it was published from the U.S. border with Mexico until October 1918. Despite the fact that Regeneración has been the object and subject of many academic researches, this article intends to focus on an important aspect of it that is not very studied: its political cartoons and illustrations. Through an analysis of the meaning of such images, this paper aims to demonstrate that Regeneración used art as a form of political propaganda also, criticizing the way taken by the Mexican Revolution and promoting anarchism as the main alternative for social and political government.Downloads
