"Ordinary Images" as eloquent signs - methodological systematization for the interpretation of magazine covers

Abstract

Methodological steps will be indicated on dialogue with a kind of pictures: contemporaries' magazine covers. The characteristics met on these pictures are, in the same time, methodological suggests and signs of a particular and actual picture, fragmented, "hyperlanguaged". It contributes to show the complexity of "ordinary pictures", easies, commons, very well accepted. This article results of a bigger research made with important Brazilians magazines (Manchete, Veja and Isto É Senhor) comparing the late 60's to the late 80's
