Abstract

In order to make explicit the potential of Vivian Maier’s self-portraits meanings, conceptions are presented about the photographic act and the photography decipher act, from Flusser’s perspective, as well reflections about selfportraits, according to Barthes and Dubois and, finally, the analysis of four self-portraits. The relevance of this paper for communication lies in the possibility of expand the knowledge of the communicative potential of self-portraits.
