Abstract

This review examines, in general terms, the book “Sophia e o Direito à Aprendizagem”, by Professor Clodomiro José Bannwart Júnior, which addresses the rights to learning in childhood established by the Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum, using concrete experiences lived by the author's daughter as a backdrop. To this end, some of the main points and characteristics of the book are highlighted, with particular attention to the approximation of the right to learning to the conditions of possibility of education, on which the author reflects using his own history as a father and educator. The right to learning, in order to be fully established as a right, must be enforced. The book, drawing on empirical evidences, is a useful tool for this purpose.
