The aim of this investigation is to present the relevance of the creation of the Professional Stricto Sensu Program in History Teaching, in a national network, for Brazilian public school teachers. The National ProfHistory Program will be 10 years old in 2024 and covers 23 Brazilian states, with 39 participating universities. To fulfill the objective of the analysis, a selection was made of the general scenario of one of the ProfHistory programs, hosted by the State University of Paraná - Unespar - campus in Campo Mourão, a region that covers 25 municipalities in the state of Paraná. The justification for the study is based on the importance of the subject of History for human development and the teacher's ability to work in teaching, combining theory and practice as inseparable elements. To substantiate these questions, a historical review is made of the awareness of theoretical and practical teaching, unified for the achievement of student learning.
