This article revises the formation process of the Black identity: from a subordinated condition to the recognition of value in historic and literary aspects. In Solano Trindade’s poetry, the poet gives voice to the oppressed man (black or white) to denounce social injustices. Solano Trindade invites the reader to revaluate the condition of black people and when he emphasizes the human factor in his poetical production he questions the stereotypical and demeaning images of the Black. His poetry intents to (re)read to the images that were impinged on Blacks in the Diaspora, confronting them with moral, political and social standards with the intention of recognizing the human character in Blacks.Downloads
