A Questão Socioambiental da Reciclagem: A Prática da População Londrinense

Abstract

The concentration of people in urban centers, associated with the lack of planning and with poor public politics regarding the destination of the garbage, made the garbage a sub- existence product to many people that live in poverty. However, the growing concern of the society about the environment made the garbage recyclers and the garbage itself as centers of the attention of recycling companies and of the public sector. The raised question is: What is the action of Londrina’s people regarding the recycling issue? This article tries to identify the action of the population of Londrina facing the environmental understanding of the recycling. Theoretical concepts of economy are used and it was made a study case regarding the subject. The empiric data was collected by questionnaires. According to the interviewed people, the greatest problem we will face in the next decades is the environmental, followed by the social problem, and lastly, the economical one.
