The present article has as objective promotes reflections regarding the different configurations assumed by the State in the context of the capitalism and of the answers given in the struggles of the social subject. In him they are approached the Liberal State, the crisis of 1929, the State of Social Well-being, the neoliberal offensive starting from the years of 1970, besides some considerations regarding the intervention of the State in the great first financial crisis of the century XXI. Initially the reflections are accomplished in relation to the countries of the central capitalism and, soon after, in relation to the Brazilian context.Metrics
