Abstract

The aim of this article is to discuss the interference of orality in written production of undergraduates by checking the most recurrent marks. For the success of the research, we present some considerations about language variation relating to the teaching of Portuguese language in Brazil. Following the sequence, we will also talk about deviation of the norms in written texts. Finally, we present the analysis of the corpus, consisting of 44 texts written by students from the Faculty of Linguistics and Languages. The data reveals similarity in the standard deviations of texts written by students from urban areas and texts written by students from rural areas, what confirms new trends in Portuguese language spoken in Brazil. However, it is possible to conclude that, despite similarities, there are deviations restricted to written production by students from rural areas, due to the transposition of marks stigmatized by rural dialect. Thus, the results of the research confirm the interference of orality in written production, even in texts written by university students that are supposed to master the standard default idealized. Keywords: Written text. Standard deviation. Orality.
