The beautiful in the ruble: semiotic strategies in the image of war photojournalism

The article analyzes the aesthetic components of two photojoutnalistic pieces in the context Israel’s war against and the Hizbollah, a Lebanese political party: in 2006 first Spencer Platt, winner of Word Press Photo Contest, and the second from the Assiciated Press, published in the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo. Studied from beacons producing meaning in semiotics of culture oh Ivan Bystrina, the photographs show that the approach problematizations aesthetic universe of advertisement. Both photographs could easily move between the two contests of information production, given its compositional elements.
