Aiming at the development of a simple and inexpensive transfer and culture medium, bacteriological peptone was diluted in powdered milk (40 g) and one grama an antibiotic agent was used; 0,5 g of the culture medium were diluted in 10,0 ml saline solution; samples of Tritrichomonas foetus, isolated from animals of several localities in the state of Rio de Janeiro, were inoculated in these media, which were observed daily, under light microscope for, at least, ten days. Statistical analysis of results revealed that a dose of 8 g of peptone was able to maintain the multiplication phase of T. foetus for a longer period in an average length of time of approximately 12 days.
