The objective of this study was to make a prenatal assistance (PNA) characterization of high risk pregnancies, ail were assisted at the Hospital Unirersitário Regional do Norte do Paraná (HURNPr) in We found that 70% of the total received prenatal assistance, 47% receiving it at HURNPr. From the total assisted at HURNPr. 41% made at least 5 visits for their prenatal assistance. The operation delivery index was 41% and the index of low birth weight was 20% We conclude that at the secondary assistance levels the number of pregnants receiving PNA was low, and they did this under improper conditions. In this was, the risk group, even with PNA presented unsatisfactory results regarding proper pregnancy development.
