Analysis of pregnant women: prevention through education in the basic health unit of Jardim Bandeirante

This study evaluated the profile of pregnant women in the Basic Health Unit of Jardim Bandeirantes, through interviews in households and developed educational work with the health center staff and community leaders, with guidance on prenatal care. The pre-test and post-test evaluations of the educational meetings showed that the pregnant women gained knowledge in all items of the lectures. The contents covered were: care provided to women during pregnancy, major danger signs in pregnancy, signs of childbirth, the development of the fetus and changes in the mother's body, encouragement of breastfeeding, guidance on posture and exercises aimed at preventing discomfort during pregnancy, information on the abuse of tobacco, alcohol, drugs and pregnancy self-medication, guidance on oral hygiene for mother and baby.Downloads
