This paper is about the study of the valve belonging to the fluidic device category (because it works automatically without moving parts or additional energy), denominated Convergent Conical Valve with Axial Vortex. Functionally the valve is based on the induction of a forced circlation employing a vortex amplifier that can control the flow, energy dissipation and aerates the flow. The study of the valve (SOARES, 1990) consists mainly of the elaboration of mathematical model and also a scale model that was built at the "Centro Tecnológico de Hidráulica", to check if the theoretical model predicts the observed behavior correctly.
