Abstract

The seed processing operation is an important stage pos-harvesting to higher physical and physiological seed quality. It was aimed evaluate physical and physiological rice (Oryza sativa L.) seed quality during processing operation. There were used rice seeds, cultivar Caiapó, sampled during the following conditioning steps: reception, post-pre-cleaning, post-air screen cleaner and post-gravity separator in the superior, intermediate and inferior fractions. The seeds quality were determinate by tests of purity, hectolictric weight, germination test, emergency, seed of emergency index and blotter test. The rice seeds processing operation with pre-cleaning machines, air screen cleaner and gravity separator, increases the physiological quality of lot. The rice seeds physical quality increased after each machine during the processing operation.
