The analysis of 889 samples of faeces from dogs of various races and ages was carried out at the Veterinary Hospital of the State University of Londrina, from January 1982 to December 1992. The techniques of WILLIS (1927) and HOFFMAN, PONS & JANER (1934) were utilised and the following kinds of helminthosis observed: Ancylostoma spp (39,82%), Toxocara spp (13,72%), Trichuris spp (6,74%) and Dipylidium spp (3,82%>). The data were analised considering the age, race and the months of the year. There was a significant difference (P<0,01) in the cases of helminthosis in animals of pure race and those of undefined races when applying the %2 test.
