Genital mal formation in grade zebu cows collected in slaughterhouse localized in Roraima

The objective of this study was to quantify and describe malformations in genital tracts of 403 pregnant and non pregnant grade zebu cows examined macroscopically at post-mortem. The genital tracts were collected in a slaughterhouse located in Roraima. The animals examined presented 4.47% malformations in different portions of the genital tract. In pregnant reproductive tracts, unilateral partial ovarian hypoplasia (0.25%), paraovarian cyst (1,75%), and partial hymen persistense (0,50%) were observed. In nonpregnant reproductive (racts, bilateral total ovarian hypoplasia (0,25%), para ovarian cysts (1,50%) and double caudal opening of the cervix (0,25%) it was were observed. The results showed that the zebu cows examined presented low rate of genital mal formations.
