Abstract

Research carried out in a slaugterhouse of Londrina, in the Northern Region of Paraná State, Brazil, showed that Eurytrema coelomaticum (Giard & Billet, 1892) is a common parasite of pancreas in bovines. The infection was subclinical. The histopathological studies were realized in 40 pancreas of bovines naturally infected. It was observed that damage was correlacted to the average number and length of flukes present in pancreas and the number of fecal eggs. Mixed infection with bacteria was also observed.
