Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the rooting of semi hardwood cuttings of ‘IAC 575-Jales’ vine rootstock on mist chamber. It has been studied two sorts of cutting preparation: with leaf and without leaf submitted to treatments with 5 concentrations, (0, 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 mg. L-1) of indolbutyric acid (IBA). A randomized design with 4 replications and 8 plants per plot was used as a statistical model (2-factor). After 30 days following variables were appraised: the percentage of rooting, percentage of dead cuttings, length of roots and fresh and dry matter of roots. The treatment with IBA influenced positively in the rooting of the cuttings with leaf, in the concentrations of 1,500 and 2,000 mg. L-1 the rooting was of 96.8%. In the cuttings without treatment with IBA the rooting was of 68.7% and in the cuttings without leaves the treatment with IBA did not influenced significantly, and the higher average of rooting was 21.8%.
