According to this article, state corporations persevere as important economical agents and are, in terms of number, expressive within the Brazilian context. Its utilization presupposes subjugation to a judicial regime which is partially public and partially private. The existence of private investors in mixed economy corporations suggests a careful analysis of the strategies related to the profit of the enterprise as opposed to the reason of its origination and sustenance. Legal and contractual mechanisms, such as shareholders agreements, can play an important role in the configuration of the modern public corporation.
