Plagiarism Detection Policy

The journal História & Ensino adopts systematic procedures to prevent and identify plagiarism, self-plagiarism, redundant publication, and other forms of academic misconduct, taking into account the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and good practices in scholarly communication.

Before the peer review process begins, manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened for similarity using Turnitin software, provided by the Central Library of the State University of Londrina (UEL). Similarity reports are analyzed by the editorial team, taking into account the nature of the matches identified, the context of citations, and the specific characteristics of academic writing in the Humanities.

The identification of textual similarity does not, in itself, imply the occurrence of plagiarism. Each case is assessed individually by the editorial team, which may request clarification or corrections from the authors, reject the manuscript, or take other appropriate editorial measures, depending on the severity and nature of the irregularity identified.

By submitting a manuscript to História & Ensino, authors declare that the work is original, that the sources used have been properly cited and referenced, and that the text respects copyright and the principles of academic integrity.
