Abstract

The book analyzes the formation of institutions from the late 18th century to the Arab Spring (late 20th century) in the role of economic development. For the author, the political system based on the balance between the three sets of institutions: State, law and responsibility are a moral and practical necessity for all societies. The state is important for external defense and internment to place the laws. For the author, there is no alternative to the modern and impersonal state to guarantee order and security, which is fundamental to economic development due to the right to property and guarantee of contracts.
