This article addresses the representation of black people in comics from the perspective of the historical context of eruption of black characters, especially superheroes, through the character Black Panther, this through an exploratory bibliographic approach. Na primeira parte, o artigo apresenta o contexto do movimento pelo direito de igualdade na perspectiva do cenário estadunidense, lugar vivencial originário dos comics de super-heróis. In the second part, it deals with the black characters and their representations in adventure and super-adventure. Finally, the article indicates that the representation of black identity through the character Black Panther has conquered space in contemporary artistic-cultural productions, initially motivated by a quota policy, which later revealed itself as a representative character. Comics are, therefore, a stage where sensitive issues for the community are put under discussion, acting in this way as catalysts for social transformations.
