This is an interview with Japanese visual artist and game designer Rieko Kodama about the Phantasy Star video game series. The questions seek to clarify which were the objective and imaginary references that allowed the production of the series, as well as the use of female protagonism in the characters, which was an innovation for the time (1987 was the first Phantasy Star).
