Image reading and visual literacy: reviewing some concepts

This study aims to analyze some concepts on readings of images offered by the German historian Erwin Panofsky in the middle of last century related to an artistic production developed in an educational context. Methodologies to be used as a literature review pertinent to the theme and in locus observation of the artistic experience produced. In this sense, we understand that concepts such as reading literacy and visual images are inserted in the midst of historical and educational, involving knowledge of visual language and written language not only for better understanding of the meanings of the work analyzed. Thus, we sought in this investigation and socializing knowledge resulting produce it as an interpretive process, reflective and constructive present in qualitative research in education.Downloads
