Abstract

This article presents a theoretical reflection on the importance of photography as a representation model of reality, privileged support for transmitting information, means of expression, social document and major element in the recording  f transformations undergone by societies. Its objective is contributing ideas to the development of communications research supported by photo images, its historical evolution, and other related concepts such as technical mediation, social change, perception and sociocultural factors.
