Abstract

In this edition of the journal Discursos Fotográficos, we present a set of articles that explore different aspects of the image and its studies related to Communication and related fields. Together, the works offer a comprehensive overview of the different dimensions of the image and its studies in Communication, addressing everything from the production and circulation of images in different contexts to the implications of the technical image in contemporary society. The studies contribute to deepening the debate on the role of the image in the construction of knowledge, in aesthetic experience, and in political action, as well as pointing to new possibilities for research and social intervention
