The experience of accessible communication in the exchange of knowledge between scientists and the population: preparation of the Booklet for pre-conferences on social housing

Abstract

This article aims to share the experience of developing the booklet "LONDRINA: A New Perspective on Social Housing", focusing on its scope and potential, as well as to disseminate the material that was produced. It is based on the experience of communication between a research group of the State University of Londrina and the community in the holding of the Pre-Conferences and the 6th Housing Conference of Londrina - Paraná, in 2023. The study adopts a qualitative methodological approach, grounded in the principles of participatory action research. Thus, the development of the booklet followed the concept of "popular communication," which in this context is referred to as simple communication, aiming to contribute to social mobilization in support of the right to dignified housing. It is concluded that social participation to assume a democratic character is closely linked to the participatory forms put into practice.
