Criteria for newsworthiness and photojournalism

Abstract

This article reports on a survey aimed at checking, on a preliminary basis, the influence of the criteria of newsworthiness in making photojournalism, as well as if photojournalism influences the choice and selection of facts that will be news in the newspapers the next morning. Included in this study is a brief report on the historical evolution of both the journalism as the photojournalism, added by concepts of newsworthiness in both areas. In closing, it empirically checks the influence of the criteria for newsworthiness of photojournalism in journalism.
