Photography in the imaginary of healers in Campo Largo

Abstract

This article describes the imaginary of healers in Campo Largo and explains, by using correlations to its origins, the symbols and the imagery, the way the photograph reaches a magic status in the act of blessing. There is an important role attributed to photography in this imaginary when pictures are blessed in the place of real people: meaning attribution goes beyond the iconic role and reaches the universe of the myth.
