The work seeks to expose part of the reflections elucidated in the research project "Government and Business Relations: philosophical and legal dialogues on the state regulation of the national economic order" which, in its initial stage addressed philosophical aspects about the law and the state. Thus, it seeks to demonstrate two models are at opposite poles: republicanism and liberalism, approaching its limits in relation to society, the law and the economy. So, it is noted, in conclusion, the need to relate both models in view of social reality and state function.
