This article examines the trajectory of Father Francisco Eloi de Oliveira, former chaplain of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB), with a focus on his role as a "memory agent" in the post-World War II period in São Tiago, Minas Gerais. The research investigates the festivities organized by the priest during the 1980s and 1990s, emphasizing his leadership in the construction of landmarks such as the "Deus e Pátria" Sanctuary, which merges religious and patriotic elements. In addition to highlighting the preservation of FEB's memory, the study explores how religiosity and patriotism intertwine in Father Francisco's actions, promoting a distinctive narrative that celebrates both the civic and spiritual aspects of Brazil's participation in the war.
