Resumen

Este artículo analiza el proyecto tercermundista de la Organización de Solidaridad de los Pueblos de África, Asia y América Latina (OSPAAAL), centrándose en su producción gráfica. OSPAAAL fue creada en 1966 durante la Conferencia Tricontinental y existió hasta 2019, con sede en La Habana. Sostengo que la organización jugó un papel destacado en la difusión de imágenes sobre el llamado Tercer Mundo, permitiendo que una cierta interpretación de su significado –asociada con nociones de opresión, resistencia, revolución y solidaridad– fuera vista a nivel internacional. Se examinarán diferentes estrategias utilizadas por los artistas que trabajaron para OSPAAAL para aproximarse visualmente a diferentes contextos con el fin de respaldar esta narrativa. Este estudio se enmarca en la llamada nueva historiografía de la Guerra Fría y pretende resaltar el papel protagónico de actores del sur global en la (re)elaboración y circulación de narrativas sobre el orden mundial en la segunda mitad del siglo XX.
