On the Conservatisam and Conservative Morale of the Brazilian Social Work

In this article we intend to make a brief approach of some of the conservative ways that have occurred in the action and speech of the Social Workers, since the profession emmersion until today, with the purpose to raise debates about the issue in the professional category. The first one will be made; Romano (1981) classifies as romantic conservatism. This intends to renew the old values and feudal social organization already historically old fashioned; the second conservative approach is in the idealistic character speech, in the Nisbet conservatism, will call “modern” that intends to maintain the modern State; at the end, we will fly over the Brazilian Social Work history showing how this conservatism shows itself in the different historical moments of this profession.
