Abstract

This article approaches the theoretical-methodological procedures, as well as the results of this research on the current stage of the spoken language by the Ukranians immigrants' descendants who live in a community located at the south of the State of Paraná. The theoretical discussion is based on the principles of Sociolinguistics, particularly the ones concerned with the phenomena of linguistic contact between the Portuguese language spoken by the inhabitants in this community and the Ukrainian variant of the first Slavic settlement brought at the end of the nineteenth century. Thus, we followed the apparent and the real time research method.

Neiva Mara Zanin Garcia, Universidade Estadual de Londrina

Tem experiência nas áreas de Língua Inglesa e Linguística. Possui graduação em LETRAS pela Faculdade de Filosofia Ciências e Letras de Arapongas (1986); Especialização em Língua Inglesa pela Universidade Norte do Paraná (2005), período no qual realizou pesquisa de campo no sentido de verificar as percepções dos professores à respeito do "erro" na aula de Língua Inglesa, abrangendo instituições de ensino de diversas modalidades (escolas públicas, privadas e escolas especializadas), tendo como foco as contribuições da Línguística Contrastiva nesse processo; Mestrado em Estudos da Linguagem pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2008), com projeto direcionado à pesquisa de campo realizada em uma comunidade paranaense de imigrantes ucranianos, com o objetivo de descrever a atual situação linguística desta localidade no que diz respeito às línguas em contato, com parâmetros nos princípios teórico-metodológicos da Dialetologia e da Sociolinguística.
