Lexicon and social history: a study of lexical variant snow in the Mato Grosso Southeast Area Linguistic Atlas

This text analyses signs of intercultural and linguistic influences on the vocabulary, based on the productivity of the variant snow to name dew (orvalho), registered in the Mato Grosso Southeast Area Linguistic Atlas. The data were compared with five Brazilian linguistic atlases, which included the Northeast, Southeast and South, to analyze the persistence and/or the dissemination in this variant usage, according the investigated region social history, whose settlement resulted from several migratory flows.
