Abstract

This text analyses signs of intercultural and linguistic influences on the vocabulary, based on the productivity of the variant snow to name dew (orvalho), registered in the Mato Grosso Southeast Area Linguistic Atlas. The data were compared with five Brazilian linguistic atlases, which included the Northeast, Southeast and South, to analyze the persistence and/or the dissemination in this variant usage, according the investigated region social history, whose settlement resulted from several migratory flows.

É formada em Letras, com especialização em Lingua Portuguesa e Mestrado em Estudos de Linguagens, pela UFMS. Possui experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em Lingua Portuguesa. Trabalhou em escolas das redes pública e privada, no Ensino Fundamental, Médio e Superior. de Rondonópolis e na empresa J&M Consultoria, como consultora em linguagem escrita para executivos.Atualmente, é professora de Comunicação Linguística e de Introdução às Ciências Sociais na UNIC - Universidade de Cuiabá - Campi: UNIC Barão e UNIC Pantanal (certificação FGV)

Aparecida Negri Isquerdo, Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul

Graduação em Letras pela Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso (1975) e Doutorado em Letras (Lingüística e Língua Portuguesa) pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1996). Docente aposentada pela Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul. Foi professora convidada (PV/CNPq), no Programa de Mestrado e Doutorado em Estdos da Linguagemn, da Universidade Estadual de Londrina (2005/2006), onde ainda atua como docente colaboradora. Atualmente é Professora Visitante, na Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul, Programa de Mestrado em Estudos de Linguagens. Tem experiência na área de Lingüística, com ênfase em Lexicologia e Lexicografia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: léxico, toponímia, atlas toponímico e atlas lingüístico.
