This article intends to examine some questions referring to the relations between “power” and “book’s production” and “lecture” in the times of the medieval manuscripts books, reflecting on this question through an analysis of the portuguese ancestry books of the XIII and XIV. In the first part of the article, they are examined the relations between power, society and the text of the ancestry books. In the second part, the analysis is directed to the relations between power, society and the book as an object submitted to social forms of control.
