In this article the intention is to discuss the relationship between the language and the world in the short-story “Tragédia dum capão de pintos", by Monteiro Lobato. 80th the access to language and its control are arbitrary and in permanent mutation. This results from the fact that there are different subjects and also that the subjects undergo permanent change. The access and control mentioned above are studied in their connection with different social and historical perspectives which permeate social relationships.
