From a moral and ethical perspective, we investigate the conception of women about the possibility of couples in general maintaining love in conjugality. Fifteen women interviewed by Alencar (1993) and 15 women currently interviewed, between 20 and 30 years old, married, without children, and in the middle class, participated in this study. We used a semi-structured instrument and prioritized qualitative data analysis (DELVAL, 2002). We found that most interviewees considered the possibility of love remaining in conjugality. As justification, they mentioned feelings, and interviewees, in the past, emphasized experience. Marital problems, intolerance, incomprehension and abdication accounted for 18% of the arguments going against the ethics of care and the ethical psychological plan, which should consider the self and others in the pursuit of a good life. This work contributes to the researches and provides theoretical reference to psychologists who work on the issue in question.Downloads
