is paper presents the resultant sequence of the research about the structure and functioning of the phytoptanktonic community of Tibagi River. Fifty nine samples were collected with a net of 30um mesh opening. In thirty-two of these samples it were found the genera: Actinotaenium, Cosmarium and Staurodesmus. Twenty-two taxa were identified, 17 (77,2%) of which been first records for the State of Parana.
