Sugar cane, with different doses of vinasses applied after the first cutting, was assessed in a experiment set up on the School Farm at the State University of Londrina, using the sugar cane cultivar RB785148 planted in Oxisol. A randomized completem block design was used with four trataments and five replications where T1- 0 m3/ha (control), T2 = 25 m3/ha, T3 = 50 m3/ha and T4 = 75 m3/ha vinasses. The assessed parameters were: stalk lenght (cm), average stalk diameter (mm), and leaf lenght +3 (cm). The results showed that the different vinasses doses applied were not sufficient to influence the initial sugar cane development and that influence of water content in the crop development was very pronounced, as the plants developed less in the dry period.
