Microbial flora in the vagina of buffalo cows during reproductive and productive activity

The microbial fíora frorn 352 vaginal swabs from 22 buffaloes cows was studied. From the bacterial cultures performed, 168 (47,73%) showed positive results with isolation of one or more microrganisms, and the remainder 184 (52,27%) were negative. The following microrganisms were identified in the genital mucosa of buffalo cows independently of the reproductive or productive cycle: Alcaligenes faecalis, Bacillus sp, Corynebacterium sp, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella sp. Micrococcus sp, Proteus sp, Staphylococcus sp, Staphylococcus aureus, hemolitic Staphylococcus, Streptococcus sp, hemolitjc Streptococcus and hemolitic Streptococcus.
