Considerações sobre a avaliação da gordura corporal através da determinação dos valores de densidade corporal e da espessura de dobras cutâneas

Abstract

The purpose of this study, after reviewing the specialized literature, is to offer information that could serve as the necessary basis to a better understanding of the subject, "body fat evaluation". At first, an attempt to deal with basic aspects related to subcutaneons fat determination wasmade by analysing the different implications of the skinfold thickness. Then, the principles of hydrostatic weighing, were examined as an aid the body density estimate, attempting to report its aplications and limitations to the fat evaluation.
