Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

In order to submit their manuscripts and track the editorial decision process, authors are asked to sign up to our online editorial system. Log in to an existing account or sign up to a new account.

Submission policy

As part of the submission process, authors must comply with the requirements listed below. Submissions that fail to meet such criteria will be declined and sent back to authors.

  • The manuscript is original and has not been submitted to publication elsewhere (it must otherwise be justified in the field “Comments to the editor”);
  • At least one of the authors holds a doctorate degree;
  • Submitted files are either Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RFT format (and do not exceed 2Mb);
  • Reference URLs are provided, when necessary;
  • Text is formatted in Calibri font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing. Use italic rather than underline text for emphasis (except in URLs). Figures and tables must be placed throughout the text, not at the end of it, as attachments;
  • Text must meet the writing standards and reference requirements described in the Author Guidelines;
  • Authorship is removed from the manuscript and from the File > Properties in Microsoft Word, in order to meet the criteria for Double-blind Peer Review (refer to the Peer Review policy).
  • The manuscript must contain title, abstract and keywords (in case the manuscript is written in Portuguese or Spanish, it must also include title, abstract and keywords in the primary language, besides English).

  5. The abstract must have an ideal length of five to six lines, in Calibri font, size 12, single line spacing;

  1. “[…] and prevent the syncytium formation testing” (Bruck et al., 1992).
  2. “[…] thus threatening the quality of the assets” (Afonso; Vianni, 1995).
  1. References must be formatted according to the ABNT-NBR 6023 standard, and listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript. All authors from the references must be informed, as many as they are.
