Contemporaneity is marked by fragile relationships and immediacy, a scenario also present in affective relationships. In this context of modernity and liquid life, Marília Pedroso Xavier presents the dating contract as an alternative to those couples who have no intention of starting a family, since, nowadays, dating can be an end in itself and no longer solely as a step towards engagement and marriage. When addressing the legal business in Family Law, the author focuses on the minimum Family Law movement and defends the reduction of State intervention in eminently private matters, private autonomy in this branch of Civil Law and the characterization of the dating contract as an existing, valid and effective legal transaction.
