The article traces the relationship between social movement for historical memory, public policies concerning this and the positions for and against the historians about such phenomena , considering the historiography of values proposed and practiced by the History Discussion Network since 1993 . Reflects critically on the position of Pierre Nora and their "places of memory" without human substance , and the French association " Liberté pour la histoire " , who refused to support the Spanish historians as the case of Judge Garzón , retaliated by seeking of according to international law , judge the crimes of Francoism crimes against humanity. Leaving the paradigmatic character of the Argentine experience , it details the situation of historical memory in Spain and the current political obstacles facing victims of Franco's dictatorship , as justice, truth and reparation demanded by the UN and other international bodies .
